Pilot projects come in all shapes and sizes for all sorts of reasons. They can be a pre-requisite stage in a gated process or baked into a full-implementation. They can be DIY or executed with a vendor partner(s). No matter the case, Pilot Projects are ALWAYS a good idea – I dare you to try to change my mind!

This presentation will discuss benefits, considerations, objectives, and some examples of value-add by way of pilot projects including: uncovering hidden trends, understanding real needs and requirements, team building, product testing, making it break, facilitating process review, and conflict identification.

While project examples will include Digital Twin and Indoor GIS implementations, the lessons apply broadly across the tech landscape.
